I decide upon the exact spot to build my pole frame house & drive the stakes for the boundaries

A surveyor's transit is used to determine the precice elevation at each location where holes will eventually be bored

24 large holes are bored, 2 feet in diameter & 6 feet deep

A six inch layer of concrete is poured into the bottom of each hole. They will serve as pads upon which the large timbers will rest

My house will be built upon these 24 large timbers. They're 10 inches square, and 20-30 feet long.

The concrete pads are allowed to dry overnight, and the next day the poles are lifted into the holes that have been prepared for them
