Hi there! I'm building a rather unusual house. It's called a pole frame house. Large poles (or, as in my case, square timbers) are embedded into the ground & the house is built upon these poles. Just like its conventional counterpart, the pole frame house can be as simple or as complex & sophisticated as the builder so desires. In fact, pole frame construction lends itself to many wonderful geometric possibilities not attainable by conventional design. In my case, however, I didn't want a large, complex home. Instead, I elected to build a modest, rustic cabin quietly tucked away in the country. My pole frame house is about 2,200 sq ft, & has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living, kitchen, dining, study, laundry, & mezzanine (loft). There will be a covered front porch, and open decks will be off the master bedroom as well as the dining. I've got lots of pictures & information on the following pages, & I'll be updating my site often. I hope you enjoy your visit & please take a moment to sign my guestbook on the last page.
